Powell Truck Restoration Update

Here's an update on the 1957 Powell Truck restoration. She doesn't look like much now but she'll get there and be the talk of the town when she's done!

Flathead 6 motor getting ready to come out

Engine out. This block is cracked but we have another one that we'll be sending off to the machine shop to be rebuilt.

Empty engine compartment.

Pulled off the doors, pulling off the trim and setting it aside in a safe place to be reused. The chrome is still in good shape so no need to replace it.

This is the '56 donor vehicle. We chopped off the top and removed all the pieces we need to put the '57 back together with original Powell parts.

Seemed a shame to chop up such a rare vehicle but it's for a good cause so it's worth it in the end. Sure looks sad sitting out in the snow with no lid!

  1. Get a donor body from a '41 Plymouth, and take the chassis full circle!

  2. Please update soon! I love these trucks and can not get enough of seeing this very rare 1957 model! Will you be two toning it inside the trim? (Factory option.)
